A 20-year-old bicyclist is in critical condition after colliding with a car Monday afternoon in northwest Fresno, police said.
The accident happened about 2:50 p.m. on the 4300 block of North Emerson Avenue near West Swift Avenue when a 46-year-old man driving a Toyota hit the bicyclist before crashing into a garage, Fresno police Lt. Joe Gomez said. Officers who responded to the accident found the cyclist on the roadway with his damaged bicycle nearby and the Toyota lodged inside the garage of a house.
The cyclist was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with major head, torso and leg injuries. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
Neither the cyclist nor the Toyota driver were identified, and no other details about the crash were immediately available.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
