Motorists should expect delays along northbound Highway 99 in Fresno starting at 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Saturday from Fresno Street to just south of Belmont Avenue near the railroad crossing.
Caltrans said Friday afternoon that only the slow lane will be open during that time due to an emergency slab repair project. On- and off-ramps within the project area should remain open.
Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route. The California Highway Patrol will be present to provide extra traffic control support. Message signs will also be activated south of the project to notify motorists of expected delays.
Road officials remind motorists to be alert for Caltrans personnel and to merge when directed to do so. Stay alert and “Slow for the Cone Zone” in all construction and maintenance zones to ensure road workers’ safety.
