Fresno State will host three free lectures over the next two months discussing the portrayal of the Armenian Genocide in films.
Myrna Douzjian, the Henry K. Khanzadian Kazan visiting professor of Armenian studies, will present the talks, which coincide with the 100th year anniversary of the start of the Armenian Genocide. The first lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Room 191 of the Alice Peters Auditorium at Fresno State. A reception with free hors d’oeuvres will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the University Business Center gallery.
The first lecture will discuss an allegory for the genocide featured in the animated film “Chienned Histoire.”
The second lecture will take place on March 19, and the third will be on April 8. For more information on the series, call (559) 278-2669 or go to www.fresnostate.edu/armenianstudies.
