One man is in critical condition after he was hit by a car in a southeast Fresno intersection, police said.
Fresno police Lt. Phil Cooley said the pedestrian, described only as a man in his 50s, was hit just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday while crossing the street at the intersection of Maple and Tulare avenues. The man was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
Cooley said the driver remained at the scene and provided information to officers. Police aren’t sure if the man was crossing legally when he was hit or if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the accident. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
