Two Visalia women sustained major injuries Wednesday after a three-vehicle crash in heavy fog in Visalia, a CHP spokesman said.
Public information officer Scott Harris said the crash occurred when Steve L. Frisby, 54, of Visalia, who was driving a 2010 Kenworth, stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Road 64 and Highway 198 and then pulled onto the eastbound section of the highway without seeing an oncoming 2008 Lincoln. The car hit the man’s truck trailer, and a 2008 Acura then hit the Lincoln.
Claudia De Esquivel, 34, the Lincoln driver, and Cheriee Brown, 34, who was driving the Acura, were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with major injuries. Their current condition was not known. Frisby was not hurt.
Harris said the visibility in the area was greatly reduced by fog at the time of the crash. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played a role in the accident.
