Fresno man missing from Oakhurst-area campground located at home

A mentally disabled Fresno man who was reported missing from a campground near Oakhurst has been located at his home in Fresno, the Madera County Sheriff's Office said Sunday afternoon.

Fresno police confirmed around 1 p.m. that Ismael Botello is at his home in Fresno.

The 56-year-old, described by police as being "at risk," was staying with family at the Evergreen Conference Center Oakhurst campground above Sky Ranch Road. He vanished from there Saturday night.

Police learned of his disappearance Sunday morning and assembled a search team including Madera County sheriff's deputies, search and rescue volunteers, the sheriff's office off-highway vehicle unit and California Highway Patrol's H-40 helicopter who searched for Botello in the Oakhurst area. The sheriff's office also requested help from the Fresno Police Department in case he had gone home.
