A truck vs. go kart collision killed two people in Tulare County, the California Highway Patrol said Saturday.
The two killed were both female and have not been identified, pending notification of their families. They were riding in a Dingo go kart on Road 188 between Woodlake and Ivanhoe, and failed to heed a stop sign at the road's intersection with Avenue 336, the CHP said.
A 2007 Chevy Colorado pickup, driven by a 34-year-old Ivanhoe man, was traveling westbound on Avenue 336 and hit the right side of the go kart, the CHP said. The two females were thrown from the go kart upon impact, and both vehicles slid into a nearby orchard.
The driver of the Chevy was not arrested. He and his 66-year-old passenger, also from Ivanhoe, received minor injuries, the CHP said.
