An elderly woman struck by a car Tuesday in Visalia has died of her injuries, police said Saturday.
Police on Wednesday had identified the woman as Betty Alonzo Minatta, 79, of Visalia. She had been reported in critical condition after being airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Visalia.
Visalia officers went to Locust Street and Oak Avenue at 6:08 a.m. Tuesday after a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta had struck Minatta.
The driver, Francisco Garcia Diaz, 56, of Visalia, was heading south on Locust. Minatta was crossing west on Locust at Oak, police said.
An investigation is ongoing, though police said neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to be a factor.
It wasn’t until Satureday that police confirmed Minatta died a day earlier at the medical center.
