American Heart Association officials joined Union Bank representatives Monday in donating CPR kits to McLane High School in Fresno that will be used to train students in the Medical Education and Research Academy.
Heart Association members also unveiled a rendering for the organization’s 2016 Rose Parade float, called “Keep the Beat Alive,” which honors students who used CPR to save a life. Under Assembly Bill 1719, signed in September by Gov. Jerry Brown, the majority of California high school students will learn CPR before they graduate.
Training for 20 students in the academy was provided by the heart association members.
