Motorcyclist killed in Sunday crash on Highway 180 identified

The Fresno County Coroner Tuesday identified the motorcyclist killed Sunday in a solo crash on Highway 180 at the Highway 41 transition ramp as Brandon Porraz, 24, of Fresno.

The crash took place about 6 p.m., as the rider of the Kawasaki was westbound on Highway 180 on the transition ramp to northbound Highway 41. The CHP said Porraz lost control of the motorcycle, collided with a guardrail and landed in the roadway.

An SUV driven by Juan Hernandez, 25, of Fresno also was westbound on Highway 180 at a speed of about 55 mph. The CHP reported that Hernandez didn’t see the motorcyclist and struck Porraz.

Porraz died at the scene.
