The 40-year-old male driver of a 2008 Toyota was killed early Thursday and a 3-year-old boy who was riding with him sustained major injuries in a one-car crash south of Visalia, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The names of the driver and passenger, both from Tulare, were not released and the CHP did not say if the two were related. The crash took place as the driver was wesbound on Avenue 152 west of Road 176 when he drifted off the south side of the roadway and slamed into a power pole. The boy was ejected from the car. He was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. The driver died at the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
