The family of two children who drowned earlier this week announced public funeral arrangements.
Jayce Thao, 3, and Elizabeth Thao, 2, left their southeast Fresno home through an open garage door. The pair walked to a neighbor’s house and entered the yard through an open gate, then climbed or squeezed through a smaller gate that was around a swimming pool.

Their grandparents set up a GoFundMe account to cover funeral expenses. The fundraiser went viral. By Friday morning, it was shared more than 9,000 times and surpassed the $10,000 goal.
The family posted an update with the funeral arrangements, to be held at United Chapel Services, 1146 B St. in Fresno, with two services: 7 p.m. Sept. 30 and 8 a.m. Oct. 1.
The children will be buried Oct. 1 at Mountain View Cemetery, 1411 W. Belmont Ave. in Fresno. The burial service will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Neng Thao, the children’s grandmother, said she never imagined the fundraising goal would be reached.
“We were stumbing, falling, but your efforts picked us up and continue to carry us,” she wrote.
