Kaiser Permanente Fresno is offering the Spanish-speaking community a free, educational workshop about diabetes from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday following mass at John's Cathedral in downtown Fresno.
The event is free and is open to the public.
Dr. Jesus Rodriguez will be present information in Spanish about how to prevent the disease by eating healthier and staying active. He also will discuss how diabetes can be managed through medication and lifestyle changes.
Rodriguez and other Spanish-speaking doctors and health educators will be available after the presentation to answer questions. There will be other health resources available at the event.
This is the second Care Beyond Our Walls event Kaiser Permanente Fresno has held at St. John's Cathedral. The next one will be on Nov. 16 and will include a mini-health fair.
