The Fresno Housing Authority is closing the preliminary waiting lists for housing programs it administers while the agency has a new software program installed.

The waiting lists for the Housing Choice Voucher program, for low-income public housing and for affordable housing programs will close at 11:59 p.m. July 25. The closure does not include farm labor properties, market-rate properties, or any property managed by a third party.

There is no set date to how long the waitlists will be closed. The housing authority will announce when the lists will reopen.

Here’s some helpful hints for families with questions:

▪ People currently on the preliminary waiting lists do not have to reapply or make adjustments to their applications unless they have recent personal changes. Those with changes must report all new information through the online applicant portal at fresnohousing.org before July 25. Do not email or call the authority.

▪ Pre-applications will not be accepted after July 25.

▪ A final waitlist for the housing programs will be created by drawing applications from the existing preliminary list. People selected from the draw will be notified.

▪ People not selected for a final wait list can reapply when the preliminary waiting list reopens.
