The Community Housing Council of Fresno will hold its annual Champions of Homeownership Banquet on May 11.
The event, now in its tenth year, will be emceed by Lupita Lomeli of Univision 21. The keynote speaker will be Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims, who will speak about homeownership and how it relates to improving neighborhoods and lowering crime.
The event will be at TorNino’s Banquet Hall, 5080 N. Blackstone Ave., with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and a program at 7 p.m. Tickets are $60 or a table of eight for $600.
All money from the event will help fund grants in the council’s first-time homebuyer program.
