Sanger home sales help spur commercial growth

The city of Sanger is reporting that it has the third most active real estate market in Fresno County, behind Fresno and Clovis, which is helping to trigger the community’s commercial activity.

Sanger had 37 home sales in December, according to a report from CoreLogic, a real estate tracking firm in Santa Ana. The median sales price was $214,750. In Fresno, 635 homes sold in December and 235 houses sold in Clovis that same month. The fourth most active city was Reedley where 17 houses sold in December.

Sanger has held the leading home sales position for communities outside the Fresno and Clovis metropolitan areas for the last three years helping the city to grow, city leaders say.

“The steady rush of home sales continues to spur Sanger’s vigorous commercial and industrial growth,” said Dan Spears, community development director.

Here’s a look at what’s happening in Sanger:

▪ An 8,000 square-foot building is under construction on Academy Avenue at the intersection with Jensen Avenue. The building will be divided into six retail shops to include a Deli Delicious, a Wingstop and a Verizon cell phone store. A detached banking kiosk is also planned.

▪ A Carl’s Jr. restaurant is being built in the Sanger Shopping Center near the northwest corner of Jensen and Bethel avenues.

▪ United Health Center’s new medical building at P and Seventh streets in downtown Sanger is close to starting construction. Crews have been on site doing ground work.

▪ 13 acres of land will undergo development at the Kings River Technology Park on Academy Avenue, south of the city. Ten of the 13 acres will be an expansion project for California TrusFrame, which engineers and manufactures open web roof and floor trusses for residential, commercial and multifamily developments. The company currently operates on 10 acres.
