Creekside Parc, a new housing development by Wathen Castanos Homes, will open to the public on Saturday in southeast Fresno.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Wednesday morning at the 58-home community on Fancher Creek Drive, south of Fancher Creek Elementary School.

The homes at Creekside Parc are a little different from what people are used to. The builder has introducing a new design – although it’s an old concept. The lots are deep, not wide, with a rear alley entrance and remote gate.

The idea is to give buyers a backyard for entertaining and to allow homeowners to use the driveway space, company officials have said.

The single- and two-story homes range in size from 1,500 square feet to 2,400 square feet and will have up to six bedrooms. A flexible design option is available with the typical owner suite upstairs and another bedroom and bath setup on the first floor. Prices start in the low $200,000s. Twelve homes have already been sold.

The grand opening will be held 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
