Redfin, a technology-based real estate brokerage firm, is now serving Fresno and Madera counties, the company announced on Thursday.
Made up of software engineers and real estate agents, the Seattle-based company was created to make consumers smarter at buying and selling homes with online tools and home listings that are updated every 15 minutes.
Users interested in home tours or selling a house then contact a local Redfin real estate agent. The agents are paid a salary and earn bonuses based on customer satisfaction. They don’t work on commission like more traditional Realtors.
Redfin, which operates in 39 markets across the country, was attracted to the Fresno area for its growing technology industry.
“There’s a booming technology start up scene in Fresno and a lot of movement happening in the city,” said Marti Cook, the team lead launching the Fresno market. “Redfin felt there was some synergy there.”
The public is invited to a launch party from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 12 at Westwoods BBQ, located at Highway 41 and Nees Avenue in north Fresno, to meet team members. The company is recruiting eal estate agents.
