The number of Fresno County homebuilding permits issued in August were up compared to the same time a year ago, according to data from the Construction Industry Research Board, a service provided by the California Homebuilding Foundation.

In August, builders pulled 212 single-family home permits, up from 191 issued in August 2015. This July, 147 permits were pulled.

Tulare County also saw a year-over-year increase to 101 permits in August compared to 88 a year before. That’s fewer, however, than in July when builders pulled 112 permits. Kings and Madera counties saw the same trend in permit activity.
