The company behind Central Valley Community Bank was added to the Russell 2000 Index on June 24 when the index rebalanced.
The index is a subset of the Russell 3000, which contains the largest 3,000 U.S. companies by market capitalization. The Russell 2000 identifies the 2,000 companies on the lower end of the top 3,000. FTSE Russell provides indexes for investment managers and institutional investors.
“The additional visibility and exposure will result in interest from a broader group of investors, which is good for the company and our shareholders,” said James M. Ford, president and CEO of Central Valley Community Bancorp and Central Valley Community Bank.
Central Valley Community Bank has headquarters in Fresno but has offices across the Central Valley including locations in Clovis, Sacramento, Merced and Modesto.
In April, Central Valley Community began the process to acquire Folsom-based Sierra Vista Bank, which is expected to add three more banking offices to Central Valley Community Bank’s numbers.
