A Fowler businessman has turned his father’s hobby into a business with bling, working with his hands to create something beautiful for others to enjoy.

“I just like making others happy,” said Sid Chacon, co-founder of Vino And Bling Products. And now, Chacon has turned his small backyard dream into reality.

Chacon works with his wife, Nicole, to create etched rhinestone glassware that is customizable and dishwasher safe, with prices averaging around $24 a glass.

What his dad started as a hobby over two decades ago has now transformed into a Valley business attracting wineries, celebrities and even some national attention, with glasses shipped as far as Canada and Australia.

He’s had to refine the process several times, working with many glues before discovering accidentally one evening the perfect mix that wouldn’t smudge the glass. Working with two other part-time employees, Chacon designs and customizes all of his orders. He has sold to the Kardashians’ Miami DASH Boutique store and to Rachel Miller, wife of retired pro football player Billy Miller. His sales to people in the entertainment industry even netted him an invitation to an Emmy after-party in Los Angeles.

Local stores selling Chacon’s glassware include Fresno’s Simonian Farms, Fowler’s Ace Gifts, Birdstone Winery in Madera and Bloomies Floral and Gifts in Selma.

“We have a huge local support, people that are on their fourth or fifth glass ordering,” Chacon said. “It’s great for gifts, great for birthdays, for just showing your personality while enjoying a glass of wine.”

Vino and Bling Products will be showcasing its glasses at 2016 Fresno Home and Garden Show on March 4-6 at the Fresno Fairgrounds, and hopes to expand its product line soon to new mason jars and beer mugs.

“For me, I’m in my zone, creating something to give it to somebody to make them happy,” Chacon said. “Having a product like this, where somebody gets it and is excited about it, it’s really fulfilling.”
