Rae Pardini is what you might call a veteran bridesmaid. She’s been in that role seven times, twice as a maid of honor. So with her personal experience and professional background — she’s an event planner, and marketing and public relations specialist — Pardini launched a new personal services company: hooRAE .
The company specializes in planning pre-wedding festivities, including bachelor and bachelorette parties, bridal showers, engagement parties, proposals and rehearsal dinners. Pardini says much has changed in the world of weddings and what used to be a simple affair has become anything but.
These days asking someone to be a bridesmaid is an event itself. The trend is to be cute and clever. Brides have used engraved wine bottles, special balloons, or a pair of shoes as part of asking prospective bridesmaid to be part of the wedding.
“People want to do something different and unique, something that is not traditional,” Pardini says. “Even bridal showers and bachelorette parties are not what they used to be.”
It is not unusual for Fresno brides to throw bachelorette parties in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Nashville, or Las Vegas.
“My job is to meet with the bride and get an idea of what they want,” Pardini says. “I am very detailed oriented and serious about what I do, but I also want the event to be fun.”
Pardini, whose services are based on an hourly rate, meets with prospective clients for a free one-hour consultation. Along with planning, Pardini helps with party favors, flower crowns, tank tops or T-shirts to commemorate the event and don’t forget the temporary tattoos, because that’s a thing now too, Pardini says.
Even before hooRAE launched last month, Pardini had already help plan more than 20 pre-wedding festivities for friends and family. With the new company, she hopes to plan many more events, including her own. Pardini recently got engaged.
