A trendy coffee drink created by a Los Angeles-based business has a central San Joaquin Valley connection.
The Secret Squirrel Cold Brew Coffee has launched several new drinks and is using milk from Lemoore dairy operators Tony and Barbara Martin. Barbara Martin is better known as The Dairy Goddess, maker of several cheeses, chocolate milk and cream-top milk.
Martin said she was approached by a Whole Foods Market representative about supplying the Secret Squirrel company with milk for a new line of drinks. The company was rolling out a dark chocolate mocha, Vietnamese latte and caffe latte.
Martin met with company founder Trevor Smith and the two hit it off. Both companies pride themselves on producing quality products, using fresh ingredients.

“He liked the way we ran our company and produced our milk,” Martin said. “So we agreed to work together.”
The company’s new drinks are bottled in Lemoore at the Martin’s milk processing plant.
The 16-ouce drinks are sold in Southern California and will soon be available at the Whole Foods Market in Fresno, Martin said.
As an added bonus, Secret Squirrel added The Dairy Goddess on its label.
“Usually you don’t see that happen when you co-pack for someone,” Martin said. “But that just goes to show you how proud they are of our partnership.”
