Free workshops in Fresno offer small-business advice

The Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce and Southern California Edison are teaming up for a series of free entrepreneurial business workshops in October, November and December.

The Entrepreneurial, Development, Growth and Education (EDGE) program consists of three four-hour workshop sessions, each running from 8 a.m. to noon at the Downtown Business Hub at 1444 Fulton St. in Fresno. The session dates and subjects are:

▪ Tuesday, Oct. 18: “Contracts 101.” It covers the basics of dealing with contracts for business, employees or for personal matters.

▪ Tuesday, Nov. 15: “Hidden rules to working with prime contractors.” It covers how small businesses can increase efficiency and understand the expectations of prime contractors and other large businesses.

▪ Tuesday, Dec. 13: “Guide to lead generation.” It covers how businesses can generate leads and convert them to sales, including digital marketing.
