St. Columba Church

in northwest Fresno, there will be a celebration on Holy Saturday, April 4. Congregants are invited to bring flowers for the “flowering of the cross” in the courtyard.

Memorial United Methodist Church

in Clovis, the Liturgical Daredevils plan a different kind of worship experience at 9:30 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 5. The traditional service will be at 11 a.m. with choir, organ and hymns. The Hmong language service will be at 3 p.m.

Clovis Hills Community Church

has a busy Easter weekend highlighted by an egg drop. A carnival will be held from 1:30-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, and Sunrise Easter services will be held at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, April 5. The church will drop 15,000 eggs filled with candy from a helicopter at 10:05 a.m. April 5.

Northside Christian Church

in Clovis will have a celebrity speaker at three services Easter weekend: Jim White, who inspired the Disney movie “McFarland, USA,” will speak at 6 p.m. Saturday, April, 4, and 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday, April 5. There also will be regular egg hunts during both services April 5.

will hold Easter services at 11 a.m.

in Hanford will conclude the celebration of the Great Vigil at 8 p.m. on Holy Saturday, April 4. There will be a Easter Sunday Sunrise Liturgy at 6 a.m. Spanish services will be held at 7:30 and 9 a.m., the Solemn Liturgy of Easter will be held at 10:30 a.m. Services continue with the Noon Liturgy in Spanish and the Sunday evening Liturgy at 5:30 p.m.

At Church of the Southgate in Fresno,

kids can enjoy the annual Golden Egg Hunt, games, face painting, and a photo booth from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 4. There will also be prizes and refreshments.

New Harvest Church

will host Bet Shalom Community Passover Seder at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 7. The Passover Seder includes the Biblical unleavened bread and bitter herbs, and features other festival foods and traditions of the Passover, all in a specially catered meal. Rabbi Amnon Shor will lead through the Seder with Biblical teaching that illuminates this special feast.
