Co-founder of electric car company Tesla to speak in downtown Fresno

The co-founder and former CFO of Tesla Motors will speak in downtown Fresno.

Marc Tarpenning will visit product incubator The Pi Shop and detail his entrepreneurial journey creating a company that makes all-electric cars.

He co-founded the company with Martin Eberhard, with a $30 million investment from current CEO Elon Musk, who also founded SpaceX.

Tesla’s cars are made at its Fremont, California, factory. Tesla also manufacturers solar panels and battery systems for homes and businesses.

Tarpenning will speak at The Pi Shop on Thursday, April 25. The incubator is in the Peerless Building at 1755 Broadway Street.

Doors open at 2 p.m. and the talk starts at 3 p.m. Attendees are asked to make a suggested donation of $5, or more, to The Pi Shop. Donations can be made via its website.
