Law-enforcement officers and firefighters can get a free meal Thursday, Sept. 1, at both Shila Korean BBQ restaurants in Fresno and Clovis.
With all the recent shootings involving officers, owner Lee Zhang wanted to do something for them.
“I saw all the news of what’s going on with law enforcement and I just want to show my support,” he says.
On the first day of each month for the near future, officers and firefighters will get a free meal when they show their badges.
Shila describes itself as an authentic Korean barbecue restaurant where customers cook their own meat at a little gas grill in the middle of the table. Think pork belly, barbecued chicken, even squid. The menus for both locations are online at www.shilakbbq.com.
The entrees are free, but desserts and drinks must be paid for.
Shila’s Clovis restaurant is at 1205 Herndon Ave. in the Clovis Crossing Regional Shopping Center. The Fresno Shila is at 2760 W. Shaw Ave. near Marks Avenue.
