The California Cantaloupe Advisory Board is sponsoring a recipe contest for Fresno-area restaurants as part of its first ever California Cantaloupe week.
Restaurants that create and feature at least one menu item using fresh California cantaloupe can earn $1,000 for first place, $600 for second place and $400 for third place. The dish can be breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizer, drink, salsa or soup. Organizers say pretty much anything goes. The deadline to enter the recipe contest is Tuesday, July 12.
California Cantaloupe Week is July 25 through July 31.
