A felon accused of fatally shooting his 32-year-old girlfriend will go to trial, a Fresno County Superior Court judge decided this week.

Terrence Boston, 29, faces a murder charge in the May 6 death of Brittany Taylor. Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies found her dead inside her maroon Hyundai Sonata in the area of Olive and Cornelia avenues last year.

Judge Adolfo Corona on Wednesday determined there’s ample evidence to try Boston.

Several Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies testified Tuesday that witnesses reported hearing arguing during the early morning hours of May 6, followed by multiple gunshots and the sound of cars speeding away. A detective also testified Taylor died from eight gunshots.

One witness told Deputy Isaac Cervantes he saw two cars, a red vehicle parked next to a white semi truck. He also saw a male talking with the person in the driver seat of the car. As the witness drove through the intersection of Olive and Cornelia avenues, he told Cervantes he heard at least four loud pops and he believed it was coming from a hand gun.

“He then saw the red vehicle drive east across the intersection at a high rate of speed,” Cervantes testified.

When deputies arrived at the scene they found Taylor’s vehicle had crashed into a tree. As deputies removed her from the car to try and perform CPR, they discovered she had been shot.

Detective Adrian Villegas testified the autopsy showed Taylor had eight gun shot wounds — four to her upper body and head and four to her mid-torso and arms. It also appeared she had been shot from around 3 feet — which is fairly close range.

Boston is also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.
