ValleyPBS CEO Phil Meyer has resigned due to family reasons, according to a statement released Monday. The move was first announced by the ValleyPBS Board of Directors at a staff meeting earlier in the day.

Meyer took the reigns of the Fresno TV station group in January 2015. Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Phyllis Brotherton will serve as acting CEO until a permanent replacement can be found. She also filled this temporary position prior to Meyer’s hire.

The board will soon announce a new CEO search, a news release said.

The 40-year-old ValleyPBS includes the main station, KVPT-HD, on channel 18.1, as well as three other local channels on 18.2, 18.3 and 18.4.
