Ran Dank, an acclaimed Israeli pianist who recently performed at the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival and the Great Lakes Festival, is making a last-minute trip to Fresno. He is stepping in to perform at the Philip Lorenz Memorial Keyboard Concerts series at Fresno State this weekend, replacing the scheduled Francesco Piemontesi, who canceled his U.S. tour due to illness. Dank, who serves on the music faculty at the College of Charleston and is artistic director of the college’s International Piano Series, has performed frequently in New York City, including for Town Hall, the Peoples Symphony and Bargemusic in Brooklyn. Trained at Juilliard, he was a first prize winner of the Hilton Head International Piano Competition.
