There’s a huge amount of history and tradition associated with the venerable Fresno Musical Club, which has been in existence for more than 100 years.

You’ll get a chance Sunday, Oct. 11, to experience two generations of musicians with “Fresno Musical Club Presents,” a concert featuring current club members and two scholarship recipients.

Members performing include Faye DeLong, performing on the organ, and the Fig Garden Trio, whose members are Nancy Wallace, flute; Larry Gardner, bassoon; and Laura Porter, harp. The two featured scholarship and award winners are Sabrina Boggs, violinist and Michael Delfin, pianist.

Boggs, who attends the University of the Pacific, received this the club’s Hildred Minich award. Delfin, a graduate student at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, received the club’s Bell T. Ritchie award.

Since 1981, the main focus of the club has been to sponsor awards and scholarships for young artists. It awarded more $10,000 to young string, vocal and piano artists in 2015.

The 3 p.m. concert, at Pilgrim Armenian Church, 3673 N. First St., is free, with donations accepted. Details: 559-432-2473.
