You can add New England metal band Godsmack to the list of performers making their way through Fresno this fall.
Ohio rock band Red Sun Rising will open the show.
The band, a favorite on the Ozzfest tour in the late 1990s, plays Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Saroyan Theatre. Tickets are $29-$69.60 and go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28 at the box office, online at ticketmaster.com or at (800) 745-3000. Ticketmaster pre-sales are available 10 a.m. Aug. 26.
Godsmack has six No. 1 mainstream rock radio hits, including “I Awake” (2000) and “I Stand Alone” (2002), and was Billboard’s Rock Band of the Year in 2001. The band is touring in support of “1000hp,” which was released on Republic Records last year. It has been four years since local fans last saw the band. Godsmack played at The Big Fresno Fair in 2011.

This is the second metal show booked at the Saroyan this month. English metal icons Judas Priest announced it would play the theater (with contemporary metal band Mastadon, no less) Oct. 23.
