Los Tucanes De Tijuana are global ambassadors of Norteño music.
For 28 years, the band, led by Mario Quintero Lara, has been prolific in both its music output and live performances. It has released 34 albums and had 66 songs rank across the Billboard charts. It has received 12 Grammy and Latin Grammy Nominations. Its album “365 Dias” won best Norteño album at the Latin Grammys in 2012.
On the road, the band draws large crowds to the 120 live dates it plays each year. Los Tucanes de Tijuana averages 5,000 fans a night. A show at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City drew 100,000.
The band, which last year stopped at the Madera Fair, plays Sunday, May 3, at Tachi Palace.
