Last month, The Big Fresno Fair announced Chicago would be playing its 2017 concert series and teased that other artist would quickly be added to the list.

Four more artists have now been confirmed for the series; Beach Boy Brian Wilson (playing as a solo act), comedian (and fair favorite) Gabriel Iglesias and country singers Chris Young and Granger Smith.

All concert tickets are on sale Aug. 1-Aug. 13. for members of the Big Fair Fan Club. The general public can buy tickets starting Aug. 14.

▪ Young kicks off the series playing the opening night, Oct. 4. Tickets are $33-$38.

The country singer got his break in 2006 by winning the fourth season four of the USA series “Nashville Star.” In March, Young had Ca No. 1 hit (his ninth) with the single “Sober Saturday Night.” The song was a collaboration with Vince Gill.

▪ Smith plays Oct. 11 with with Jackson Michelson. Tickets are $15-$20. Smith is a new face in country music, according to Country Radio Seminar, which featured the singer on its yearly New Faces of Country Music Show, in Feburary. He was joined by Jon Pardi.

▪ Wilson will be at the fair, Oct. 12 as part of his Brian Wilson Presents Pet Sounds: The Final Performances Tour. Tickets are $33-$42. For the Beach Boys purists, this is a big get for the fair. Wilson co-wrote more than two dozen Top 40 hits for the Beach Boys and is considered by Rolling Stone as one of the “100 Greatest Singers of All Time.” He’s also one of the “100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time.” So ...

▪ Iglesias takes the stage Oct. 13 for what will no doubt be a sold-out performance. Tickets are $35-$45. As I pointed out last year, Iglesias is treated like a rock star in Fresno and become the fair’s comedy go-to. For good reason. He sold-out the last four years.
