Directed by: Christopher Nolan.
Starring: Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Wes Bentley.
The pitch: Astronauts travel through an artificial wormhole to find a new home because Earth is dying. The trip proves to be one of more discovery than anyone can imagine.
The formula: Launch with scenes from “2001: A Space Odyssey.” Go into orbit around “The Black Hole.” Land on a bit of “Inception.”
Go see it: If you don’t have anything better to do for almost three hours.
Don’t go see it: If films that deal with time frustrate you because the rules change to fit the story.
Good luck charm: Michael Caine has been in the last six films Christopher Nolan has directed, including the “Batman” trilogy, “Inception” and “The Prestige.”
