It is only two weeks before “Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens” opens. If you are beginning to doubt your knowledge of the other films in the franchise, the solution could be found in a copy of Mark Clark’s book “Star Wars FAQ: Everything Left to Know About the Trilogy That Changed the Movies” (Applause Theatre & Cinema Books, $24.99).

The book features an analysis of the series’ enduring appeal and cultural impact. “Echo Base: Homage in Star Wars,” “New Hope: Assessing Episode IV” and Far, Far Away: Production of Star Wars” are three of the 38 chapters in the book.

“Star Wars FAQ” includes early screenplays drafts that were never filmed and short biographies of many people who made key contributions to the movies’ success.

It is illustrated with vintage promotional stills, photographs of memorabilia, and other classic artwork.

If nothing else, the book can help you pass the time while standing in line to see the latest offering in the film franchise.
