“Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens” has a PG-13 rating. There are no details – something that is a continuing theme with this movie - but the reason for the rating from the Motion Picture Association of America is that the movie contains “sci-fi action.”
It better have lots of sci-fi action or there will be some upset fans.
Just in case your parents ask, the PG-13 rating means parents are strongly cautioned because some material could be inappropriate for children under the age of 13.
Five of the six “Star Wars” movies have been PG. The only other film in the franchise to pick up the PG-13 rating was “Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith.”

That movie deserved a PG-13 rating because there was some brutal action scenes including Obi-Wan dismembering Darth Vader who then is badly burned in a volcanic river.
