Eleven days after “Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens” officially opens, George Lucas will be picking up a special recognition. He is one of the six honorees for this year’s Kennedy Center Honors.

The awards show will be broadcast at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, by CBS.

Other recipients include the Eagles, singer-songwriter Carole King, Broadway star Cicely Tyson, actress Rita Moreno and conductor Seiji Ozawa.

David M. Rubenstein, Kennedy Center Chairman, says, “Quite simply, our Honorees represent the voices, soundtracks and stories of our personal lives and memories."

The 2015 honorees will be saluted by leading performers. There’s no word who will show up for Lucas but I’m betting someone connected to “The Force Awakens” will be there.
