Two things came out of Ashley Eckstein being cast as the voice of Ahsoka Tano in the animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” She got to be part of a franchise that she’s loved since she was a child and Eckstein launched a line of sci-fi inspired clothing,

“I was doing ‘Clone Wars’ and I was going to all of this comic conventions. When I would go out to find something to wear I would either have to look in the men’s or boy’s wear,” Eckstein tells me during an interview at the Disney Channel offices.

The Kentucky native is reprising her role as AQhsoka for the second season of “Star Wars Rebels” scheduled to launch at 9:30 p.m. on Disney XD.

Frustration over not being able to find some type of women’s wear that had a sci-fi touch, Eclstein decided she would create some. Lucasfilms turned her down several types before the actress launched her company, Her Universe, and created a clothing for women featuring “Star Wars,” “Marvel,” “Doctor Who,” “Star Trek” and “Transformers.”

Her Universe will have several selections for “Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens.” There was only one problem.

“They sent us these images but not who they are. So it has been a little difficult trying to design clothes without really knowing what we were looking at,” Eckstein says.

You can find her line of sci-fi inspired clothing at www.heruniverse.com.
