Oakland native Mark Hamill is turning 64 today, Friday, Sept. 25. That means he was 26 when “Star Wars Episode IV; A New Hope” hit theaters. It must have felt like an early birthday gift when he was cast to reprise his role fo Luke Skywalker in “Star Wars Epsiode VII: The Force Awakens.”
Hamill is best known for the “Star Wars” trilogy but he’s done a lot of other excellent work. His voicing of the Joker in the 1992 “Batman: The Animated Series” is inspired work. He’s done a long list of voice work since then.
He was also really good as The Trickster in the 1991 TV series ‘The Flash” and the 2015 version of “The Flash” on TV. And he did the voice of the Trickster in the 2015 LEGO movie “DC Super heroes: Justice League - Attack of the Legion of Doom!”
Nothing is as big as his return to the “Star Wars” universe.
