The opening of “Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens” is still months away. But, being able to buy some of the first toys based on the film is only days away.

“The Force Awakens” merchandise will will be unveiled around the world starting the morning of Sept. 3. At midnight, “Star Wars” fans will be able to buy the first wave of what promises to be multiple waves of merchandising.

In a press release announcing “Force Friday,” Kathleen Kennedy, Lucasfilm president, reported that “Star Wars” toys have always played an important role in how our fans interact with the saga. They’ve inspired multiple generations to relive the experience of the movies and to create new adventures all their own.

“These spectacular ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ products will continue that tradition.”
