Many major and minor league baseball teams have turned to “Star Wars” for promotional events. This can range from appearances by characters to special giveaways.

The San Francisco Giants — possibly because of their proximity to the George Lucas “Star Wars” hub of Sywalker Ranch — have given away several “Star Wars” items that have become very collectible.

In 2011, there was a three-sided item that featured Han Solo and Brian Wilson in carbonite. The box featured images of Darth Vader, R2-D2 and C-3PO.

In 2014, fans who attended the game between the Giants and the Brewers could get an R2-D2 beanie that included a Giants logo.

One of the coolest giveaways was the 2012 Death Star baseball.
