Local TV news departments that have added new on-air employees.

Chris Alvarez, who played baseball and basketball at Clovis West High, joins the ABC30 team as a sports reporter just in time for high school football coverage.

He knows local sports as Alvarez played baseball for two years at Fresno Pacific University before graduating from Fresno State with a degree in Mass Communications and Journalism. Before landing a job with the local ABC station, Alvarez worked at Comcast SportsNet Bay Area for three years and in Palm Springs.

KSEE24 and CBS47 – owned jointly by Nexstar – has added four new hires:

▪ Lauren Wallace, KSEE24 morning and mid-day meteorologist

▪ John Shrable, weekend meteorologist

▪ Joe Moeller, reporter CBS47/KSEE24

▪ Lindsey Henry, reporter CBS47/KSEE24

Wallace is a Georgia native who graduated from North Carolina State, while Shrable previously worked in Casper, Wyo. Moeller is a California State University, Fullerton graduate who has worked in Los Angeles and Helena, Mont. Henry is a Houston native who worked at the ABC station in Columbia, Mo.
