Raiders QB Derek Carr joins ABC30

Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is joining ABC30 as a special contributor for the upcoming football season. He will record a weekly report with the station’s sports director Tommy Tran.

Topics will include Carr’s second season in the NFL, other National Football League news and the Fresno State Bulldogs. Carr was the starting Fresno State quarterback for the 2011-13 seasons.

“I’m excited to recap the game we just played and give a little preview of what’s to come. And I’m sure that we’ll have fun with it,” Carr says in a press release.

KFSN Channel 30.1 President and General Manager Dan Adams calls Carr “an outstanding person and a tremendous football player.”

His appearances on the local station won’t be the only local TV for Carr. He and his brother, David, will be featured in a second season of EECU commercials.

The brothers will be endorsing EECU and the credit union’s support of the community.

“These spots give viewers a feeling like they know them,” says Jim Lowe, tje EECU Marketing Director. The commercials are set to start the week of July 6. “They show them enjoying practical jokes and playfully teasing each other.”
