Fresno State students win film award

Belen Gomez, Elsa Mejía, Andrea Guyton and Melanie Daniel picked up the Award of Merit from The Accolade Global Film Competition. It was given to the Fresno State students for their short documentary “Bully: The Story Of The Rock Dog.” The film takes a look at animal abuse.

For 11 years, the Accolade competition has recognized television, film, video and new media professionals who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity. It also honors those who produce stand-out entertainment or contribute to profound social change.

All of the entries are judged by professionals in the TV and film industries.

“Bully” follows an abandoned pit bull, Enzo, and his journey to finding a permanent home. Enzo was abandoned by his owner in the middle of the summer of 2013. When the dog was found, he was starving and dehydrated.
