UPDATE: Our Beehive winner is Racquel Gonzalez. Congratulations!
ORIGINAL POST: The theme for this year’s Junior Company Foundation gala fundraiser show is “And the Winner Is …”
If you’ve never had a chance to experience this uplifting event, it’s a fun evening that puts the focus on the talents of the Junior Company, which performs before every Good Company Players show at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater.
The non-profit Junior Company is famed for the Broadway and TV/movie stars it has helped train over the years, including Audra McDonald, Heidi Blickenstaff, Sharon Leal and Christopher Gorham.
Here’s the good news for Beehive readers: I’m giving away two tickets to this gala event on Wednesday, July 27, which includes an elegant dinner, fundraising auction and the show itself, directed this year by Junior Company alum Mallory Parker.
From the company:
The Board of Directors of the Junior Company Foundation has put the kids in charge of this fundraising show. They have recruited some of the Juniors’ top talents and kids and given them the task to produce the show. The kids pick the theme and the song list, schedule rehearsals, coach the vocals, choreograph and supervise – giving many of the kids their first shot at a leadership role in a production. While they were partnered with mentors who range between 20 and 25 years of age, many of the production staff are between the ages of 14 and 18.
Here’s how the giveaway works. Leave a comment on this story telling us your favorite Good Company Players memory. (If you’ve never been, tell us that you’d be a first-timer!)
