Bullard sophomore defends boxing title

Bullard High sophomore Shanne Ruelas has won her second consecutive Desert Showdown Championship Boxing Tournament title as a member of the Fresno Police Activities League.
The event in Coachella is the second largest boxing tournament in the nation.
Ruelas' next fight will come in September at the National PAL Tournament in Oxnard.
Visalians' horse nabs paint horse show titleMuch Too Pretty, owned by Joe and Nancy Berry of Visalia, captured the Tobiano 3-Year-Old & Older Mares title at the 2008 World Championship Paint Horse Show.
The show, from June 21- July 5 in Fort Worth, Texas, is the premier event of the American Paint Horse Association.
