Fresno Pacific men topple NAIA's top-ranked team
Todd Brown scored 30 points and the NAIA third-ranked Fresno Pacific men's basketball team beat No. 1 Robert Morris of Illinois 98-88 Friday at the Las Vegas Shoot-out.
Alex Davenport had 16 points and Brown eight rebounds.
The Sunbirds (4-0) built a 47-17 lead in the first half.
Rams women top Taft 1-0
Carley Griffin scored off a Mary Perez assist as Fresno City College completed an unbeaten Central Valley Conference women's soccer season with a 1-0 win over Taft.
The Rams (13-2-6, 6-0) are No. 2 in the North heading into Tuesday's regional seedings meetings. Taft, rated 19th, fell to 9-8-3 and 4-2.
Esmeralda Garcia and Aeriel Sanders scored as West Hills-Lemoore blanked College of the Sequoias 2-0.
Liam Hall, Trae Garton and Tyler Crough scored as the No. 2 Fresno City men (12-4-5, 4-1-1) won 3-0 over No. 7 West Hills-Lemoore (9-6-3, 2-3-1) and clinched the Central Valley Conference title outright.
Fresno City sweeps COS
Fresno City's volleyball team swept College of the Sequoias 3-0 as Tasha Greer had seven kills, 15 assists, five aces and 16 digs.
The Rams (21-4, 13-0), who won 25-10, 25-12, 25-12, clinched their third straight Central Valley Conference title Wednesday.
Amanda Michael added nine kills for the Rams, and Arianna Thomas had 15 digs and Taylor Alberta 15 assists.
Aggies sink Fresno Pacific
Carl Weigley won three individual events in Fresno Pacific's 167-125 loss to host UC Davis at the Schaal Aquatics Center.
Weigley won the 50-yard freestyle (21.47 seconds), 100 free (47.28) and 100 butterfly (53.36). Bart Kelly won the 100 breaststroke (58.65) and Erik Thiessen the 200 individual medley (1:59.84). Fresno Pacific's 400 free relay (3:15.04) also won.
Ski resort sets opening
