The Fresno City College men's basketball team, ranked No. 1 in the state in the preseason poll, lost its second game in as many days at the season-opening City College of San Francisco tournament.
The Rams got 23 points from Brandon Hawkins but it wasn't enough in a 75-70 loss to Santa Rosa in the tournament's third-place game Sunday. Fresno City (1-2) trailed by nine points at halftime.
The Rams opened the tournament Saturday by beating Siskiyous 95-79 before losing 90-79 to No. 4 San Bernardino Valley in the semifinals.
The Rams lost once in 35 games last season -- in the quarterfinals of the state tournament at Selland Arena.
